An electricity outlook contains observations and forecasts
The IEA’s mid-year update combines revised 2025 data with forecasts for 2026 and 2027. It examines demand, generation, prices and emissions.
Keep a forecast’s publication date with the number. A later forecast may use new assumptions; it is not automatically a contradictory observation.

Compare your reasoning with guidance
Compare the original forecast and assumptions with subsequently observed demand for the same year, geographical area and definition. A revised forecast made later is not the final observed value.
