Bangladesh’s coastal polders
Low-lying coastal polders depend on embankments and drainage. The World Bank’s 2022 account describes rehabilitation to address tidal flooding, storm surge and salinity.
Defending land changes water movement. Protection against seawater must be considered together with drainage of rainfall inside the defended area.
